KNT Group Participates in Discussion on Associated Petroleum Gas Use

From 27 September through 1 October, the Kempinsky Grand Hotel in the Russian city of Gelendzhik hosted the 25th annual Russia-wide industry conference ‘Issues and Directions in the Use of Associated Petroleum Gas: Ways of Conserving Energy’. As in years past, the NIPIgazpererabotka design institute organized the event. The conference’s 25th anniversary received support from the A.V. Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the G.K. Boreskov Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the RAS, the Union of Oil & Gas Producers of Russia, the Russian Gas Society non-profit partnership, and the administration of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region.

Invitees included the directors of relevant federal ministries and agencies, regional executive bodies, leading R&D and design institutes, and major Russian and Western oil and gas companies.

High-profile scientists, businessmen, and regional agency officials presented reports at the conference. Among the speakers were representatives of the Lomonosov Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology, the government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region (Yurga), the University of Manchester, the Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the RAS, the Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the RAS, Gazprom Neft, Sibur, Tatneft, VNIPIgazdobycha, and the Lenniihimmash Group. The KNT Group participated as well. A.B. Bodry gave a presentation entitled ‘The use of molecular sieves in drying and purifying associated petroleum gas’. Some of the hottest topics at the round-table discussion included the use of adsorbents and catalysts in gas refining, the KNT Group’s experience in developing and using innovative products and technologies to reach top-notch gas refinement quality indicators, ways of extending adsorbent service life, and experience in applying dense loading of adsorbents at gas refineries.

Other topics of discussion included gas refinery design and construction, technical regulation, and the use of new technologies and equipment.
