Highly active metakaolin is a finely dispersed, heat-active and alumo-active material used both as an active mineral additive (pozzolana) for the production of concretes, solutions and other construction products. The normally applied proportion of HAM is 3–5% of the total mass of portland cement. To achieve the maximum effect, the percentage ratio can be increased to 10% of the total mass of portland cement.
Highly active metakaolin is produced by annealing kaolinite.
